Dr. Helen Belopolsky is a geopolitical risk professional who has spent twenty years in academia, government and the private sector, proactively managing the complicated and rapidly changing geopolitical landscape. This perspective makes her uniquely placed to turn geopolitical risk into competitive advantage.

As HSBC’s Global Head of Geopolitical Risk, she supported the board and C-suite, and advised some of the biggest financial institutions and multinational organisations in the world. Dr Belopolsky previously worked in the national security space within the Government of Canada, including supporting the Prime Minister and National Security Advisor at the Privy Council Office. She has also deployed to Afghanistan and has worked for the Canadian Embassy in Moscow. Helen holds a doctorate in international relations from the University of Oxford, and is a published author.
